Home Prices Turned the Corner in 2012

Housing trends are improving across the board.  Above is a table showing 8 different home price indexes. On a year over year basis, all have been positive since July 2012.  There are a couple reasons for this increase.  First, confidence is starting to come back into the market as demand has been noticeably picking up.  Second the amount of inventory on the market is very low. More demand and less supply mean higher prices. We expect demand to continue to pick up over the next few years as ultralow interest rates combined with home prices still at attractive levels makes this one of the best times ever to invest in housing. Expect more price gains in the year ahead.
